Pieter Jacobs is Head of Manufacturing Sciences & Technology (MS&T) at Legend Biotech Europe. He holds a PhD in Biotechnology from Ghent University and VIB. Following a post-doc at Harvard Medical School and the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, USA, he moved from academia to industry, holding MS&T leadership positions at Sanofi, Biogen and UCB where he was involved in several greenfield projects, setting up local MS&T teams, leading technology transfers and supporting the start-up of routine manufacturing operations for biologics.
At Legend Biotech Pieter is responsible for the technical-scientific support of the Carvykti production process, a CAR-T cell therapy “living drug” for the treatment of patients with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow.
