PCN Materials

My studies are in Physics and in 2022 I obtained my PhD from the University of Crete on Printed Temperature Sensors. After a year of a Post doc and years of experience in research I stepped from academia into industry (PCNano Materials). “PCN Materials” was established in September of 2019 as a spin-off company of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH). The company is the only one in Greece that produces high-quality innovative modified photocatalytic (P/C) TiO2 powders that degrade gaseous and liquid pollutants as well as airborne pathogens. Our goal is to promote air quality in living environments, enhance the quality of life and improve human health. With a solid scientific background of more than ten years of research experience, and patents in Europe, USA, and China the company operated from the Industrial Park of Anopolis, Heraklion, where production is at full scale, while industrial research activities on new P/C materials continue. PCN has already completed proof of concept tests in large-scale applications. In 2018, a project within the Medical Center of the Greek Army training camp (SEAP) located in Crete, as well as the ICU/COVID unit at the Univ. Hospital (PAGNI) in Heraklion. Other applications include the incorporation of PCN products in cementitious matrices (road tiles) for the renovation of the sidewalks of the municipality of Ag. Anargiron/Kamaterou Attika.
