Mariarosaria Incoronato received her B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Naples "Federico II" and her Ph.D. degree in Genetics of Microorganisms from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Naples "Federico II." She is a researcher at Synlab Italia and works in Naples at IRCCS Synlab SDN. Since 2013, she has been the coordinator of projects supported by the Italian Ministry of Health. Her scientific interests focus on the identification of biomarkers to be translated into clinical practice for diagnostic and prognostic purposes. In the last 10 years, her research mainly focuses on the discovery of novel circulating biomarkers, especially miRNAs, as a diagnostic and prognostic tool in oncological and cardiovascular diseases. She has authored 47 international papers (orcid ID: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7019-0581) and her h-index is 21.
