Mariona Esquerdo is the Head of Innovation at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research, where she helps foster innovative health projects at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital Campus and its environment. Her professional experience includes leading the Health&Care Acceleration program at Ship2B Foundation and mentoring healthcare startups in other programs by Barcelona Activa, Technocampus, and Innovation Forum.

She holds a doctorate in molecular genetics and an MBA; she also worked as Business Develompent Director in a digital healthcare startup, Mind the Byte.

Currently, Mariona is also a coordinator at Master in Biomedical Research by VHIR and LifeScience Expert Analyst at BioExpert Network.
