Maria, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CNE, CHSE, CHSOS is a Nurse Educator at UbiSim, an immersive VR simulation platform dedicated to nursing education. She is an expert in designing and developing immersive VR simulations for nurse learners and mentors faculty across the United States and internationally on how to integrate immersive VR simulation into their curriculum.

She collaborates with 3D artists and software developers to create and optimize virtual patients, equipment, and clinical environments in the VR landscape. She is dual certified as a healthcare simulation educator and simulation operations specialist and has presented at national and global conferences on the use of immersive VR in nursing education.

Maria is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with clinical expertise in primary care across the lifespan and the care of medically underserved communities. She has published in several peer-reviewed journals, including a recent article about immersive VR simulation design in the INACSL Clinical Simulation in Nursing journal. She has held faculty appointments at the undergraduate and graduate nursing levels and developed graduate-level coursework in healthcare simulation.
