The course comprises lectures, on-demand lectures, e-activities and a pitch presentation.

Lectures will take place via Zoom, where the students will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the professors. Lectures are typically held at the beginning and at the end of each module, and students can ask questions before completing their e-activities and watching on-demand lectures.

On-demand lectures are recorded lectures videos, available on the Moodle platform at the start of each module. Neither the lecturer nor the students are required to attend the class at the same time. The lectures can be interactive, with the lecturer replying to the students’ questions and discussions on the Moodle discussion board.

E-activities are various assignments that students must complete for every module, with weekly deadlines. These activities use various digital e-learning tools, such as online quizzes, mind mapping and discussion forums. The activities must be completed within the module’s deadline; all activities, including the dedicated discussion forums, are required and count towards the final grade.

Pitch presentations will take place at the end of the course, where students will apply the knowledge gained throughout the course into a digital health idea. Class will be divided into groups during the first module and will work towards an innovative solution to be presented in a 5-minute pitch.

Resources (reading materials) for the pitch presentation will be available from the 25th September. Students can reach lecturers through Moodle to get help consolidating their presentation, and they can meet with them in video conferences for further inquiries.

The course is designed for students to have a flexible study schedule, and students can work their way through the course material at their own pace. Students are responsible for attending lectures and on-demand lectures, completing e-activities and carrying out independent studies. Students must also be mindful of deadlines that are stipulated for the activities, as they must be completed within each module’s duration. Refer for the syllabus on Moodle for detailed schedule.

The course will have a common learning methodology to all the modules.

A course evaluation will be available at the end of the Basics of Digital Health Course, to evaluate the student’s learning experience.
