Info Session
The introduction will present the objectives of the IPCEI on health, highlight the importance to open the initiative to complementary actors, both co-funding instruments and innovators. The state of play will be the occasion to remind the IPCEI mechanism and explain the role of external contributor. As Pre-notified projects should now finalise the consolidation of their consortia with European partners, the IPCEI matchmaking will be launched during this Info Session.
A first wave of projects - called Med4Cure – focusing on the pharmaceutical sector and critical molecules has been presented to the European Commission in November 2022. Pre-notified projects should now finalise the consolidation of their consortia with European partners. The workstreams of Med4Cure will be detailed here, to give an overview of the projects with their goals, requirements and expertise need.
In order for the IPCEI on Health to achieve its full potential to bring innovative solutions on the market, it will be essential to mobilise and leverage other instruments, complementary to the IPCEI, to empower all innovation ecosystems’ players. This round table aims at presenting the EIT Health view on its external contributor role: what motivated its implication with the IPCEI on health and why other instruments should join. The expected impacts, the necessity to work hand in hand with European, national, regional instruments/initiatives will be discussed with potential contributors.
To maximise the spillovers of the IPCEI and promote the innovative component of the IPCEI, complementary initiatives will be highlighted, such as Deep Tech Talent Initiative, Higher Education initiative or the Biomanufacturing platform of EuropaBio. We will also present projects funded by European Innovation Ecosystems on the bioproduction: COBIOE and BioMan4R2.
