Hospitals around the world are facing several challenges, such as physician shortages, resource limitations, and a lack of modernisation, while patient care and sustainability standards are rising. One way to meet these expectations is to tap into the untapped potential of innovation.

Healthcare providers can play a critical role in internal concept generation, validation, testing, medical data collection, and scaling healthcare innovations. Through case studies from Israel, Estonia, and Spain, the event aims to identify motivational and regulatory challenges specialised for the circumstances of healthcare providers in Central-Eastern and Southern Europe and begin to lay the groundwork for innovative collaborations between hospitals and industries.

Furthermore, this event would provide an opportunity to explore the need for an EIT Health RIS Clinical Partners' Network, a network of hospitals that could serve as a forum for sharing best practices and experiences, as well as an open innovation platform to explore collaboration opportunities with partners, start-ups, SMEs,  and spin-offs.

It is a topic-launch informational event hosted for healthcare leaders and other relevant stakeholders from 13 countries in Central-Eastern and Southern Europe, and it will be followed by local events aimed at more in-depth conversations. The event is organised within EIT Health Morning Health Talks, a platform of regional discussion forums where local actors regularly discuss key healthcare innovations, exchange best practices, and establish new collaborations.
